Of course it is. But this is normally done on the rec.radio.swap
newsgroup, the civilized alternative to browsing thru 300 year old
fungi-infested junk with 30000 hams confined within a 30 square inch
facility.

Hello,
according to a ham I talked with yesturday :
1. The beep sound we hear at some frequencies signals that the PLL cannot
be locked (The VCO is out of range). No wonder I receive nothing in the 50
MHz range.
2. There is a potential flaw in the air-band. Between, I guess 125 and 127
the rig unlocks ; this, the OM told me, is the result of bad software
design. The processor switches a coil on too soon, so the frequency cannot be
reached. Does anybody know a workaround for this problem ? Alternatively, it
may be a problem encountered on the TH 78E only.
3. Is there a way to switch between AM and FM in the low-VHF range ?
4. The AM/FM choice on the 300 MHz band is - on the European version -
done by the POWER + BAND combination. (NOT POWER + VFO which doesn)t work).
It displays a "AS ON" or "AS OFF" message. Useful in France to receive TV
sound - since our SECAM system airs AM sound (and FM colors).
73s from France.
